It is conceivable that neck pain with secondary headaches could occur, BUT, this could be handled conservatively if there is no spinal cord compression, progressive weakness and/ or muscle atrophy, urinary dysfunction, or progressive unrelenting pain. Physical therapy with motorized cervical traction could well stabilize your clinical symptoms and allow for disc desiccation and shrinkage.
