Why am i always being prescribed an antibiotic (z pack), flonase and antihistamine every time i have a sore throat, cough and fever? antibiotics are for bacterial infections and these symptoms are sometimes viral in source?

You are making a good point. Zithromax is used many times for its anti inflammatory effect and may help lessening symptoms intensity and duration. However its use in viral infections, which are much more common than bacterial infections remains debatable.
