Basics= bright red blood comes from near the outlet, usually a crack/fissure in the skin caused by lumpy/hard or rapid stooling. Maroon/darker blood comes from higher up where enzymes have acted on it & might be something cancerous. Go see your doc and get evaluated. It is either fixable or not but remaining in fear without the facts is not rational.
