A member asked:

I've had painless non progressing lower belly bloat/pressure for years wouldn't it likely be something other than colon cancer since i've had this symptom for years? isn't bloating a late symptom? 36yr.

Abdominal Bloating: Abdominal bloating can be due to a myriad of underlying disorders involving both the digestive and genito-urinary systems. Although "bloating" can be one manifestation of cancer, a "non progressing pain..For years" is less likely to be cancer than things such as an absorptive digestive disorder, ibs, a motility/propulsion problem, or even pelvic disease. I would consult a gastroenterologist.

Agree: Colon cancer symptoms tend to symptomatically progress over weeks to months not years, though this doesn't mean your symptoms shouldn't be evaluated as to their cause.
