Catching food in your swallow tube can scrape the membrane and leave a sore area that feels like something remains, or trigger spasms when you try to eat/drink. GERD by itself can trigger the same type of sore or spasms. It would be wise to discuss this with your doc and decide on a management you understand. Avoiding caffeine or laying down after feeds is important if symptomatic.

You need follow up in the office with your primary care doc or gastroenterologist as further tests will be needed in order to diagnose properly your symptoms.
