A member asked:

Can glutamate excess (exitociticity?) after an alcohol binge cause permanent damage? therefore leading to anhedonia (cant feel endorphins/dopamine anymore?

I'm not familiar with this scenario after an alcohol binge. I think it takes very prolonged exposure to glutamate in brain tissue for damage to occur. A neurologist could advise you further.
