I had reflux esophogitis. I was on PPI in AM and Pepcid in PM. Once I start tapering I am told to stop the Pepcid first. How do I know the difference between just acid rebound and gerd that is damaging my esophogus again?

I had reflux esophagitis was given PPI in AM and pepcid ac in PM. To taper off the GI has me dropping pepcid. I want off PPI, so can I start with dropping PPI every other day, while still on PePcid at night? Maybe pepcid on the days I dont take PPI?
