A member asked:

If a ct scan discovered a liver lesion but couldnt state whether benign or cancer, ultrasound & mri says suspicious for metastatic disease and pet scan says no evidence of fdg uptake, is the pet scan more accurate in its assessment? biopsy needed?

PET scan is sensitive for some cancer types but not all cancers. Medical history & other lab findings which should include cancer markers are also helpful for biopsy decision. Please trust you medical team's advice. Good luck and take care.
