Difficult to discern with the information provided. I can say that a tendinopathy is often from mechanical overuse while a tendon rupture from an acute event. Also, tendinopathy, while possible in any tendon, does not commonly occur in the hamstring tendon. I advise seeing your primary care provider or a physical therapist for a careful evaluation.
