I have to have my right thyroid remove. what are some of the side effects from that? will i gain weight? i'm also prediabetic so had concerns about that as well?

To say correctly the right lobe of your thyroid was removed not the right thyroid. Your thyroid hormone will be checked in a couple months to make sure you do not develop hypothyroidism. Likely, 2 parathyroid glands were also removed with the right lobe but the likely the remained gland(s) in the left lobe will compensate. Hypothyroidism may precipitate weight gain and put you at risk for frank DM
