It will be a painless procedure, you will be totally anesthetized. Depending on the difficulty of the extraction you may have some post operative swelling and/or pain which can be managed with appropriate medications.

Swelling (inflammation) around the 3rd molar, the last tooth back, usually indicates trauma and/or infection. The General Dentist or specialist Oral Surgeon that removes the tooth will be conversant in anti inflammatory and/or antibiotic medications. Discuss this with him/her.
