Is it compulsory to spray water out of the waterline for 20 to 30 seconds at dentist from the scaler line or the normal water line use on mouth between patient . my dentist told me no need as there is a return valve .only change tips should be fine?

It's always safe to flush out any residue that may be left. No valve is 100% effective, so any possible bacteria that is left will be eliminated. I do this any time i use any water line, even in my sink.
