Can i give menthodex cough syrup to my 6year old boy?

I would not. Studies decades ago showed these antihistamine preparations provide little to nothing of value to children. They thicken secretions and make them harder to cough out. Self -medication by children thinking more will help more are a common trigger to ER visits for overdoses. A little honey and lemon do wonders at that age for cough.
