A member asked:

My baby is 1 year old. is it safe to give him salbutamol for cough without consulting his pedia. that was his cough medicine before. thanks?

Talk to pediatrician: Never administer any drug to a child without the expressed and learned opinion of your pediatrician. We don't know if the old bottle of cough medicine you have on-hand has expired, if its the right drug for your child's current condition, nor can we calculate appropriate weight-based dosing (I'm sure the child has grown since he was a baby).
