I have irritation at the urethral opening after sex for a few days. i have seen a small red line it appears right inside the urethral opening. i have no discharge, no painful urination, or pelvic pain. using 4 bactrim for 30 days 4 poss. prostatitis?

If you are not sure about your sex partner and chance of STD exposure may occur, you still need to be tested for STD. If not at risk, you can just observe that symptom for now. Remember to have good fluid intake when taking bactrim (probably 2 single strength tablets, twice a day) with this long course.

Could be mechanical irritation . try local cortisone cream for a few days. if not healed pl see your Urologist. Diagnosis of 'possible'prostatitis is questionable. You either have it or dont.
