A member asked:

Can you have fluid in the middle ear without hearing loss? i feel something in there?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Fluid in the middle ear reduces the ability of the ear drum to vibrate and amplify hearing at normal levels. The reduction is relative, and seldom beyond muffling sound. Unless hearing for each ear is tested separately the difference may not be perceived/recognized.
