A dogs' mouth has less germs in it than most other animals, including humans. I doubt they would give you herpes, that is a human-to-human contact disease. I would not blame the dog but move on to consider other possibilities.

STDs are not transmitted by dog saliva, sometimes infections can. Herpes of urethra is extremely rare- besides there are tests for it. Did you give this history to the doctor.? Keep area clean apply otc antibiotic ointment and if not better than see another Urologist.for an opinion and RX
