My left upper rib cage hurts and pain reduces when i pass gas or poop?

You may be experiencing radiation of discomfort from the splenic flexure of the colon where it takes a 90 degree turn under the bottom of the left rib cage. The gas distends the colon there and would be relieved by passing down and out the rectum.
