My partner of 40years found out he has herpes1 & 2 from our doctor. and did not give him any antibiotics. every now and again he complaints sore inside his mouth after eating at a restaurants what should i do to be safe. he doesnt want a divorce?

Would recommend checking your status (herpes). Herpes is not treated with antibiotics, antivirals help by shortening the duration of the symptoms during flares, they do not eradicate the infection. Once aware of your status, talk to your doc about ways of mitigating the risk of contracting the infection if negative. Not sure how a divorce would help, make sure you do not overreact.
