Children : Children can be born with a white or yellow cystic vesicle on the hard palate - also called the roof of the mouth. They are called "epstein's pearls." usually these resolve on their own within weeks after birth and they do not require treatment. Is the "sore" you are describing getting bigger? Looking infected or does your son have a fever? Is it affecting his eating? If the answer to any of these questions is yes, it is possible that the "sore" you are describing is not an epstein pearl and may need attention sooner than a month from now.

White sore: Should be investigated. Suggest that you see a Pedodontist, a Pediatric Dental Specialist.
