Please please help, my niece just became one year old. she is a female with sever left hydroureteronephrosis since birth, her right kidney is not growing and we have visited many doctors but couldn't find a solution. i have x-rays and everything?

Needs close follow-up by pediatric nephrologist. Since her right kidney is not compensating well, she's likely to require dialysis in near future and adequate nutritional support.

Severe hydro nephrosis can be corrected by a pediatric nephrologist and the reason for problem with right kidney investigated. Suggest go to an academic center. Good luck.

An ultrasound and renal function testing may be helpful in following your niece. Your Nephrologist will follow her and monitor the growth and function of her renal system. Watch for signs of swelling and mono urinalysis. Discus if a special diet is recommended.
