What would happen if a gallbladder infection was left untreated?

Untreated gall bladder infection can cause some of the tissues to die and cause a tear or let the gall bladder burst . This happens commonly in older patients with diabetes., who might ignore their symptoms. This can cause an infection to spread through the body and can also cause an inflamed pancreas. So it is important to have any symptoms evaluated promptly and undergo appropriate treatment .

Is this a trick question? Why would anyone not get treated for GB infection? besides, most GB infections are painful and cause one to be really sick. Untreated this can become chronic or lead to septicemia(infection all over body) rupture of GB and even death.
