Please see a physician right away. There are several possible conditions that may cause this occurrence. Irritation of the lining of the esophagus and stomach, trauma from a swallowed object are among possible causes. The Pediatric Emergency room or a specialized Pediatric urgent care center should be contacted. Watch for recurrence, blood in stool.

If you are breastfeeding this can be from breastmilk and broken blood vessels caused by the grinding motion of feeding on breast tissue. You may or may not have pain with the feed. Sometimes you can see it in expressed milk on one side. If not, the kid needs to be seen.
