Be certain they are using a cuff large enough for you arm. To do this accurately they must measure your arm circumference at the middle of you arm hanging down. Too small a cuff could be the cause of this If you get one for home be certain it comes with right size cuff for you.

Weight loss will be critical and help with slightly elevated blood pressure. Low salt diet, sustained physical activities and proper rest are critical lifestyle changes, not easy to implement otherwise due to increasingly dysfunctional technology mediated trends.

Even for your height, your weight puts you in the over-weight obese category. You need to reduce your weight through diet and exercise. There is no alternative to reducing your food intake to create a negative caloric balance. Exercise will improve your cardiovascular health. Wish you good health!
