Having sex is not likely to cause any harm, but might uncomfortable. If you have had previous vaginal yeast infections and the symptoms are the same, probably it's the same thing now. If any doubt, check with your doctor. If yeast seems likely, consider self-treatment with one of the many OTC "azole" products, but for sure see your doctor if that doesn't clear up your symptoms in a few days.
