Occasional nerve inflammation or impingement can cause shooting electrical pain sensations. If these persist past one week, you should have it checked out. Start with your primary care Dr then see if you need a referral. Most people stop experiencing the pain once the inflammation is reduced. Taking an over the counter anti-inflammatory (Ibuprofen or Acetaminophen) can help.

This may merely represent irritation of nerves to the obturator, or thigh adductors, but may also represent a groin strain, or even sacroiliac dysfunction. Chances are that this will not eventuate in pelvic floor problems, and likely reverse in a few days.
