Small amounts of mucus in the stool is not unusual as it is a lubricant secreted by the large intestinal cells to keep things moving. However if it increases in volume or have blood and other substance also present, it might be a sign that requires attention first of the PCP and then the Gastroenterologist. Please check it out if it persists.
