Yes indeed ..: It turns out that the passage of mucus while stooling is a common feature often seen with irritable bowel syndrome. Even with healthy bowel movements we pass small amounts of mucus, but it's so small that it's not readily visible with the naked eye. You should make sure that something more isn't going on, as visible mucus passage can be a feature seen in more concerning processes like IBD.
