Too complex for accurate reply with the brevity required. If confirmed genital herpes due to HSV2, it is only transmissible from your genital area, not mouth. In people with genital HSV2, the virus is often present and transmissible without symptoms, but less often w/ treatment (e.g. valacyclovir). See infectious disease or STD specialist. With proper care, normal romance and sexuality are easy.

Unfortunately it is contagious. But using condom helps but not 100%. Traetment reduces the chance somewhat. Also some people infected but do not get symptoms- depends on their immune mechanism
