Breast Implants: It is not possible to diagnose your condition without an examination. I recommend that you follow up with your surgeon or get a second opinion.

Get checked: Difficult to say what is going on without an exam. Please call your doctor to make an appointment to be seen.

Could be synmastia: I cannot say for sure without examining you or at least seeing a picture. The swelling could be due to synmastia, but there could be an issue with your anatomy. Sometimes the breast bone can be bulging outward and patients do not notice this till after surgery. I suggest you visit your plastic surgeon for an evaluation.

Not sure: I can't possibly tell you what the swelling is without an in person or photo evaluation.

Swelling v synmastia: At this point, it is unlikely to be swelling. Synmastia is a loss of cleavage where one or both implants cross your sternum (midline breast bone). It's hard to tell you what's going on without exam. Go back to your surgeon and ask. Btw, if it is synmastia, it is very, very difficult to fix.

All possible?: Hard to say without seeing you. It is not likely that you are still very swollen one year after breast augmentation. It is possible that the skin is lifted between the implants, or that the implants are too close together. If you are concerned, follow-up with your plastic surgeon, or seen another plastic surgeon near you. The answer is very easy in person.

Synmastia: Synmastia implies that the two breasts are blended into one and occurs as a complication of breast surgery not done well. The implants may touch each other or are very close. The skin over the breast bone is lifted up and the patient's chest appears as if she is wearing a nude/skin colored sports bra.It is a rare complication and usually requires the expertise of a Plastic surgeon to correct it.
