CO2 of 17 means metabolic acidosis; however, it could be a lab error if the blood specimen was left too long before analyzed. Etiology of metabolic acidosis is vast so CO2 of 17, if confirmed, may or may not be related to a kidney problem, e.g. if you have severe diarrhea, CO2 can be 17 but chloride (Cl) is high in SMA7. High lymphocyte count usually has nothing to do with most kidney diseases.
