Im having flank pain and have never had it before. i dont have it sitting down, when i get up from sitting, or hunched over on a seat i can feel it. followed with smelly urine. i have anxiety as well, is this concerning?

Flank pain and foul odor urine could be the symptoms of urinary tract infection and I am concerned about the upper part, i.e. kidney. If you have fever, chill and/or dysuria (urinary frequency and painful), see your doctor or visit urgent care for care.

Having your symptoms properly addressed with the help of your doc would be best. While circumstances suggest a musculoskeletal cause, urine characteristics and pain location point towards a renal cause, even though the urine smell may or may not be related to your pain. Trying to self diagnose will only feed into your heightened anxiety and become counterproductive in trying to find answers.
