A member asked:

Can a 22 year old female have colon cancer or something else similar to that? my symptoms have been so similar to ones relating to the disease and nothing else seems to be able to match the issues i've been struggling with for 6 or more months now?

While anything is possible in medicine chances of you having cancer of the colon are extremely remote. Instead of self diagnosing and worrying about something very unlikely please see your doc and tell he/him about your concerns. Your issues will be straightened out. good luck

All being considered, such diagnoses (cancers) are always possible, just not as likely. Self diagnosing becomes an increasing issue as many times it feeds personal biases and health related anxiety. Best remains to discuss symptoms with your doc who will be able to coordinate work up in order to have your symptoms properly addressed and a diagnosis formulated.

What symptoms do you have? Unless there is a family history of early onset colon cancer, it is highly unlikely that you have one. It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. It would be prudent to see a doctor. Wish you good health!
