How can i soothe my throat? it randomly throbs, hurts, tightens or feels like there is something in it multiple times of the day. it is also uncomfortable to swallow foods at times. (also i do not have the flu or a cough?

You should have this evaluated. You may need to see an ear/nose/throat doctor. They can look at your throat with a small scope with a camera and see if there is anything wrong that needs treatment. Meanwhile, you can try cough drops to soothe your throat or even hard candy. You can try sipping on hot beverages like tea. But see an ENT doctor for evaluation and treatment. Good luck to you!

You may be dealing with globus pharyngeus which is often related to stress and tension. However this diagnosis is only made after a careful exam of your throat & neck is carried out & no GERD or other pathology is found. Stress management therapy has been helpful in treating globus sensation.

Agree with Dr. Ferranti. It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. It would be prudent to see a doctor, preferably an ENT doctor. Wish you good health!
