A 34-year-old male asked:

Good day. for the past 9 days i have had a sore throat, dry cough, blocked sinus, for the first few days a mild fever, and for the past two days a slightly tight chest. should i be concerned or would this probably be the seasonal flu? no travelling.

Doctor can evaluate: Throat pain can be from a strep throat infection (antibiotics needed), a cold or influenza, or from some other cause such as allergies or irritants. Usually, a person sees the doctor (call first) if the sore throat is bothersome, recurrent, or doesn't go away quickly. COVID-19 infections tend to have cough or chest tightness, whereas strep throat usually lacks cough but has more throat pain.
