You may have a gum infection[periodontal disease], best see a periodontist. If you don't have a tooth that is decayed, and shows no infection on an x-ray, than no root canal necessary.

You're wasting your time running around. You have a fistula (draining abscess). The issue is either a necrotic pulp or a periodontal issue. If the tooth is non-vital (no pain on testing or hot/cold/sweet) and a radiolucency is evident on your radiograph, you need root canal therapy. Not much more to discuss, but if you really want to go thru the effort and expense of all these other tests, do it.
