A member asked:

I was addicted to zopiclone for many years. its classed as a cyclopyrrolone & increases the normal transmission of gaba in the central nervous system, via modulating gabaa receptors. i was wondering if i took gaba, whether this could help me sleep?

Maybe. Doses up to 300mg nightly have been tested in Japanese subjects and found to reduce sleep onset by 5minutes. This may not translate to a significant benefit in your specific situation. Consider a telemedicine consultation to discuss your difficulties sleeping. There are a many non-pharmacologic therapies that can be considered.
