A member asked:

I read about zopiclone & zolpidem... the 2 compounds have diff profiles in action to 2 major subtypes of the gaba-a receptors..." does this mean tolerance built to one wouldn't nessasarily mean you have automatic tolerance built to the other? thanks?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

My bias is to avoid sleeping pills, if possible. Zopiclone is newer, but both are non-benzodiazepines. Ambien is well known for tolerance and would suspect zopiclone to exhibit this also. Best approach is to design a sleep hygiene program. See if you doctor can assist in this endeavor.
