A member asked:

I had a septorhinoplasty 5 weeks ago n my main concern for surgery was to fix my deviated septum. however my septum is still very much deviated, its now more deviated to the left side, when before it was goin to the right? is this normal wen healing?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Perhaps the surgeon had to leave an amount of cartilage in place for support. In certain cases surgery has to be repeated to eradicate persistent septal deviation. Discuss your concern with your surgeon. Hopefully you'll be told that in time the septum will straighten with more healing. You can always get a second opinion in the future.
