With "PCOS", ovulation is generally absent, so "periods" by definition are not post-ovulatory, and breakthrough bleeding is common, but should not continue for "14 months", so see your GYN physician for an exam and other testing, since there are several causes of persistent bleeding which may not be related to your "PCOS" diagnosis.
