Low creatinine numbers do not mean reduced kidney function. As kidneys begin to deteriorate, the creatinine actually goes up. If your GFR is over 60, you can take magnesium safely. Iron supplementation can be pursued if there is clear evidence of iron deficiency. An isolated abnormal mch is not a diagnosis of iron deficiency. Please speak with your doctor to discuss next steps based on your labs.

Your creatinine level is normal. Why do you want to take magnesium citrate? Taking iron is okay. If you have constipation - You may take a fiber laxative like Metamucil and drink enough water daily so that your urine is colorless. For the long term you may try to increase your intake of fiber foods.
