Is an endoscopy the only way to find out if you have an ulcer? had ulcer before (not h.pylori) and having similar symptoms. can i just take prevacid if i suspect i have one? is that safe to do if you dont actually have one?

If you don't have an ulcer safe for short time. If you do then can bleed to death. Depending on how bad the ulcer is. Upper GI films can sometimes see an ulcer. Unusual to have at your age.

Best would be to connect with the gastroenterologist that diagnosed and treated your first ulcer. A plan B will be delineated so that in case Prevacid does not work for a trial, proper work up will be in place.
