Ectopic cervical thymoma. can a primary thymoma be located in the base of the neck, and not directly on the thymus gland?

Ectopic means an unusual location. Thymus gland is usually in the chest but it can be located ectopically in the neck hence the term ectopic cervical thymoma, i.e. a tumor originates from the thymus which is located at an unusual location in the neck (cervical area).
