Yes, it can be cured unless you have an underlying condition or risk factor which predisposes for its recurrence. So prevention means you have to get rid of that condition or risk factor, e.g. a person with AIDS can have thrush when the disease isn't under control with low CD4 count. We can treat that thrush with local or systemic antifungal drugs but thrush will recur if CD4 remains low.

there are also some very common conditions that would lead to thrush such as uncontrolled diabetes, use of antibiotics and corticosteroids. Each of these underlying problems must be addressed to completely treat thrush.
