Short term insomnia can frequently be resolved with a temporary course of medication that makes you sleepy. Antihistamines are one of these types of meds. If you are now sleeping regularly, congratulations, your problem is resolved. Continue to do all the normal things you do before bed, as a routine can help maintain sleep patterns.

You may need a sleep study that will be prescribed by your Doctor. There are good medications prescribed by a Psychiatrist for sleep disorders. Also, if you are suffering from anxiety that prevents you from sleeping then please see a Clinical Psychiatrist with expertise in multiple types of psychotherapy for help. First be sure to have a physical exam to know if you have an illness.
