Boils are usually staph and recently MRSA is found in the majority of those where cultures are obtained. MRSA is so common now in the environment that most practitioners assume it is & treat as such. A boil on your butt usually must be drained before it will stop recuring and many will add an anti MRSA antibiotic during treatment.
