Lymph nodes are hubs for immune system components. If there is an infection, the lymph nodes near it swell with immune system cells, antibodies, etc. If you have a lymph node that has been swollen for 2 years, it is concerning and should be seen by your primary care Dr. for a thorough evaluation and potentially labs.
