Long term use of any opiate would cause withdrawal just like tramadol. What is more important is to find other ways of managing pain if possible to reduce dependence on opiates and look for non opiates in addition to like physical therapy or biofeedback to manage chronic pain. Three days use of medication is less likely to cause withdrawal.
