No, this is not normal. Fever should’ve resolved in 48hrs. Please get seen in person for further evaluation.

The rapid strep culture doesn't usually give false positives. Your son may have a tonsillitis or early abscess. Is his sore throat severe? . A reexamination is warranted in view of ongoing high fever.
