I am having increased hip pain with bearing weight and walking. ive had injections in this hip before. 2 months ago i took a 7 day course of cipro for an intestinal infection. could this have caused the problem to get worse?

Not likely. Review how many extra sticks of butter you are carrying around in body fat. 1 lb = 4 sticks. If BMI is not 25 reducing towards that may help pain.

Cipro can be associated with tendon rupture and tendinopathy although rare. Joint involvement is only seen in children. If not already done, a DEXA scan after age 60 is recommended to screen for osteoporosis. Weight bearing concerns should be evaluated with a physical exam and imaging such as a hip and/or lower spine x-ray
